“My dog has been healthier and stronger now”

The biggest change for me has been confidence. I’m no longer guessing or relying on packaged food without understanding it. I know what I’m feeding, I have a routine that works, and it honestly feels good to be able to do this myself. It’s not about being perfect - it’s about having something you can stick to. And this is something I know I can continue long-term.

Real Food - Real Skills - Real Life

I started thinking kibble might not be the best choice for our pups.  As someone who likes to do things myself, I thought, "I must be able to make my own dog food instead of buying those expensive premade meals."  So I researched and found which foods are healthy options for dogs and removed the ones I knew one of my pups is allergic to. After sharing my list with my vet, I created a system for prepping and preserving a balanced bowl that is super easy to keep and serve. The unexpected consequence of this change was in our dog Penny.  She is 14, and after a lifetime as an athlete, was really starting to struggle with just going upstairs.  After chasing the ball for just a couple small throws, she was limping and in pain.  She lives for her ball, so this was very sad to watch.  She was also turning food away and getting really skinny. A couple of weeks after switching to homemade food we noticed that she was eating more, putting on weight, perking up, and her limp disappeared!  While we really didn't consider this result, we were thrilled! Now both dogs have shiny coats, are thriving, and love their food.  At Down 2 Earth Livin I teach practical skills that work with real life.  This course shows you how to make real food for healthy dogs, at a fraction of the price of prepared dog meals - and even kibble!

What Dog Moms says

I used to constantly question if I was doing the right thing with my dog’s food. This made everything so much clearer. It’s simple, practical, and actually fits into my routine. I always thought making dog food at home would be overwhelming.

For a long time, I knew I wanted to do better for my dog, but I didn’t know where to start. Every option out there felt confusing — different advice, different ingredients, and no clear direction. I kept second-guessing myself and wondering if I was really giving him what he needed.

What I appreciate most about this is how simple and practical it is. It doesn’t try to overwhelm you or make things complicated. It just shows you a clear way to approach feeding using real food, in a way that actually fits into everyday life.

There’s so much noise out there about dog nutrition. This made it simple and realistic. It feels good knowing I’m doing something better without overcomplicating it. The batch cooking part alone was worth it for me. I don’t feel stressed about meals anymore.
